I. Introduction As a critical part of the national infrastructure, railways play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily life and economic activities. The railway system involves numerous departments, spread across large areas, with complex on-site conditions that make regular maintenance challenging. Implementing a remote monitoring system significantly improves operational efficiency and safety. The "Jiaante" remote monitoring system utilizes advanced technology to enable operators and managers to access real-time video from any location within the railway network through existing computer systems. This includes monitoring stations, crossings, and the surrounding environment, reducing the need for manual inspections and allowing early detection of potential hazards, thereby enhancing overall safety and productivity. II. Basic Requirements and Equipment Configuration 2.1 Basic Requirements The system uses wireless transmission to send video signals from each monitoring point to a central network. It allows real-time monitoring, image browsing, and control of video (and audio) recording, playback, and query functions. This supports security management across the entire station and provides essential data for relevant departments. 2.2 Equipment Configuration Based on user needs, the system is composed of three main components: the monitoring center, sub-control centers, and front-end monitoring devices. - **Monitoring Center Equipment**: Includes a monitoring host (with main control software), a large screen projector (optional), client PCs, and client software. - **Sub-Control Centers**: Each has a client PC and client software for local monitoring. - **Front-End Devices**: Include a video server (JAT-S), a PTZ camera or high-speed dome camera, and an outdoor cabinet containing the video server, PTZ decoder, and power supply. All outdoor equipment must be suitable for harsh environments. III. System Architecture The system consists of three core parts: 1. **Front-End Monitoring Points** – These are the locations where cameras and other devices are installed. 2. **Monitoring Center** – Central hub responsible for managing all devices and providing access to real-time video and recorded data. 3. **Sub-Control Centers** – Local stations where authorized personnel can monitor and manage specific areas. 3.1 Front-End Devices The core device is the Hikvision Rackmount Video Server, which connects camera signals directly to the wireless network. Cameras can be selected based on the specific needs of each monitoring point—standard, pan/tilt, or high-speed dome models. For outdoor installations, a dedicated cabinet houses the video server, PTZ decoder, and power supply, along with a 220VAC power source and RJ45 interface. 3.2 Monitoring Center A server is set up at the monitoring center with main control software installed. It manages all front-end devices and maintains network connections. Users can access live video and recorded footage from any LAN-connected computer. The system automatically configures storage paths, but users can adjust settings via the server's management software. It also supports distributed storage for scalability. A monitoring workstation can be added for system administration, including device and user management. It can be connected to a projector for live monitoring or demonstrations. 3.3 Client Access Users only need to install the Jiaant client software on their computers. Once authorized by the system administrator, they can access the system as a monitoring workstation. The software allows real-time viewing of multiple screens (4/9/12/16), PTZ control, and playback of recorded videos. The front-end camera signal is transmitted digitally through the video server, ensuring high-quality video delivery. A single server can manage the entire system, with optional workstations and projectors for enhanced monitoring capabilities.
