Zhengzhou Superhard Materials Cluster Planning Group Yuyang Research

On the afternoon of December 4th, a research group from the Zhengzhou Superhard Materials Industry Cluster Planning Team, led by team leader Wang Qinsheng, conducted an on-site inspection of the planning and construction progress of the New Materials Industrial Park. Accompanying them were city leaders Wang Xinting and Wang Xin. The New Materials Industrial Park is strategically focused on developing key sectors such as super-hard materials, advanced abrasive materials, and functional ceramics. It also aims to support the development of auxiliary industries related to super-hard materials processing. To date, the park has secured 44 projects with a total contract investment of 22.2 billion yuan and fixed asset investment of 5 billion yuan. The park plans to achieve a starting area for super-hard materials and products with over 10 billion yuan in investment and an output value exceeding 23 billion yuan by 2014. By 2016, it aims to become a major new materials industrial park with over 35 billion yuan in investment and an output value surpassing 100 billion yuan. The goal is to establish China’s largest new materials industrial park centered around super-hard materials, featuring complete supporting facilities and distinct industrial characteristics. After listening to a detailed report on the park's planning and development, the research team, along with city officials and department heads, held a discussion on the future development strategy of the park. They provided valuable insights and suggestions that could help shape the park’s growth. Wang Xinting, deputy secretary of the municipal party committee and vice mayor, emphasized that the New Materials Industrial Park has brought significant development opportunities to Fuyang since last May. He expressed confidence in the future of the super-hard materials industry and the potential of the Zhengzhou New Materials Industrial Park. However, he also stressed the need for caution in setting long-term goals. He highlighted the importance of market-driven development, noting that the 18th CPC Central Committee's Third Plenary Session emphasized the government's role in creating a more regulated and efficient investment environment. As a government body, he said, it is crucial to gather all available resources and production factors, focus on strategic targets, and take a global perspective when promoting specific projects. In terms of operations, he emphasized the importance of intellectual property protection, technological innovation, and scientific research to enhance the park’s competitiveness. The ultimate aim is to build the New Materials Industrial Park into the largest super-hard material production base in China, with complete infrastructure and unique industrial features. This would position it as a modern industrial hub that reflects the cultural heritage of the Central Plains region. Wang Xinting also stated that the city will actively incorporate expert opinions and further implement their recommendations. He hopes that experts will continue to guide the development of the New Materials Industrial Park toward becoming a globally recognized "Diamond City" and a leading center for super-hard materials, known as the "China Super Hard Material Valley."
