Pump common troubleshooting tips

Common troubleshooting techniques for pumps, it is more important to master the troubleshooting techniques of pumps. With this knowledge, the pump can be abnormal. The situation can quickly determine the fault. The pump troubleshooting and processing techniques are as follows:

1. The pump is stuck. Treatment method: Check the coupling with the hand plate and disassemble if necessary to eliminate the malfunction of the static and dynamic parts.

2. The pump does not drain, and the pump is not enough (or the gas in the pump is not exhausted). Treatment method: refill the pump;

The pump is not turning right. Treatment method: check the direction of rotation;

The pump speed is too low. Treatment method: check the rotation speed and increase the rotation speed;

The filter is clogged and the bottom valve is not working. Treatment method: check the filter to eliminate debris;

The suction height is too high, or a vacuum appears in the aspiration tank. Treatment method: reduce the suction height; check the suction tank pressure.

3. The pump is interrupted after draining. Cause: The suction line is leaking. Treatment method: check the connection of the suction side pipe and the sealing of the stuffing box;

The suction side gas is not exhausted when the pump is pumped. Treatment method: Refill pump required;

The suction side is suddenly blocked by foreign matter. Treatment method: stop the pump to process foreign matter;

Inhale a lot of gas. Treatment: Check if the suction port has a vortex and the submerged depth is too shallow.

4. Insufficient traffic. Reason: The system has a static head increase. Treatment method: check the liquid height and system pressure;

Resistance losses increase. Treatment method: check the pipeline and check valve and other obstacles;

The casing and impeller wear rings are excessively worn. Treatment method: replace or repair the wear ring and the impeller;

Leakage in other parts. Treatment method: check the shaft seal and other parts;

The pump impeller is clogged, worn, and corroded. Treatment method: cleaning, inspection, and exchange.

5. The head is not enough. Reason: The impeller is reversed (double suction wheel). Treatment method: check the impeller;

Liquid density, viscosity and design conditions do not match. Treatment method: check the physical properties of the liquid;

The traffic is too large during operation. Treatment: Reduce traffic.

6. The pump is vibrating or abnormally sounding. Cause: The vibration frequency is 0~40% working speed. Excessive bearing clearance, loose bearing bush, impurities in oil, poor oil quality (viscosity, temperature), oil foaming due to air or process liquid, poor lubrication, bearing damage. Treatment method: After inspection, take corresponding measures, such as adjusting the bearing clearance, removing impurities in the oil, and replacing the new oil;

The vibration frequency is 60%-100% working speed, or the sealing gap is too large, the retaining ring is loose, and the seal is worn. Treatment method: check, adjust or replace the seal;

The vibration frequency is 2 times the working speed, misalignment, the coupling is loose, the sealing device is friction, the housing is deformed, the bearing is damaged, the support resonance, the thrust bearing is damaged, the shaft is bent, and the shaft is poor. Treatment method: check and take corresponding measures to repair, adjust or replace;

The vibration frequency is n times the operating speed. Pressure pulsation, no center, shell deformation, seal friction, bearing or foundation resonance, pipeline, machine resonance; reinforcement foundation or pipeline; vibration frequency is very high. Shaft friction, seals, bearings, imprecision, bearing shake, poor shrink fit, etc.

7. The bearing is hot. Reason: Bearing tile scraping is not satisfactory. Treatment: Repair the bearing pads or replace them.

The bearing clearance is too small. Treatment method: re-adjust the bearing clearance or scraping;

The amount of lubricating oil is insufficient and the oil quality is poor. Treatment method: increase the amount of oil or replace the lubricant;

Poor bearing assembly. Treatment method: check the bearing assembly condition as required to eliminate the unqualified factors;

The cooling water is broken. Treatment method: inspection and repair;

The bearing is worn or loose. Treatment: Repair the bearing or scrap.

If loosen, re-tighten the bolts; the pump shaft is bent. Treatment method: correct the pump shaft;

The oil ring is deformed, the oil ring cannot be rotated, and the oil is not oiled. Treatment method: update the oil ring;

The coupling is poorly centered or the axial clearance is too small. Treatment: Check the alignment and adjust the axial clearance.

8. The shaft seal is hot. Cause: The packing is too tight or rubbed. Treatment method: relax the filler and check the water seal tube;

The water seal ring and the water seal tube are misplaced. Processing method: re-check the alignment;

Poor washing and cooling. Treatment method: check the rinse cooling circulation pipe;

The mechanical seal is faulty. Treatment: Check the mechanical seal.

9. The rotor is large. Cause: Improper operation, operating conditions away from the pump design conditions. Treatment method: strict operation, so that the pump always runs near the design conditions;

The balance is not smooth. Treatment method: dredge the balance tube;

The balance plate and the balance plate are not suitable. Treatment: Replace the balance plate and balance plate that meet the requirements.
