2009 Milan European Machine Tool Show ended successfully

The European metalworking industry event (EMO MILANO 2009), sponsored and sponsored by the European Machine Tool Industry Cooperation Council (CECIMO), was successfully concluded on October 10. The net exhibition area of this exhibition is about 100,000 square meters. A total of 5,500 machine tools and equipment were exhibited in 11 exhibition halls. While highlighting the future development trend of machine tools, various exhibitors competed to show the latest technology and production methods to present to the audience. The latest machining equipment for various industrial fields.
The next EMO return to Milan will be held from October 5th to 10th, 2015, and the next two exhibitions – EMO 2011 and EMO 2013 – will be held in Hanover, Germany.
The degree of internationalization is high. The participation of Asians is remarkable. This EMO Milan exhibition has welcomed more than 1,400 companies from 39 countries and regions, 65% of which are Italian companies. During the 6-day exhibition, a total of 124,660 visitors attended the exhibition, from 99 countries (14 more than the previous session, reflecting the diversity of features), of which 41% were from Italy, the largest number among them. The German audience, the first in the total number of people, reached 12.8%, followed by the United States, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Japan, India, Poland, Russia and Switzerland.
It is worth mentioning that the statistics show that the number of non-European audiences has increased significantly, accounting for 40.1% of the total overseas audience. In particular, the participation of Asian visitors was considerable, accounting for 19.4% of the total number of visitors, from India, Japan, South Korea and China – which also became a feature of this exhibition.
The influence of EMO MILANO 2009 has also been confirmed by the Internet. The official website of the exhibition has reached more than one million visits as a unique information channel. Only the statistics in October have witnessed more than 150,000 clicks, with an average daily rate of 15,000. 75% are visitors outside of Italy. According to the organizer of the exhibition, during the exhibition, 377 media reporters from around the world and 5,667 students from relevant technical colleges/sectors were received. This is also a practice of EMO. The organizers are always happy to provide more promotion schools and machine tools. Opportunities for intimate contact and communication between industries.
A series of important conferences and events were held during the exhibition, including the European Cutting Tool Conference, the NEXT Generation Production Systems Conference, and the General Status of Machinery Development Conference. Mechanics) and the EU Day event with the theme "Innovation for a sustainable and competitive European manufacturing industry".
The overall economic environment needs to be “warmed up”. The growth of machine tool production and sales is weak. Although from the comparison of various statistics, the indicators of the exhibition (including the net exhibition area, the number of exhibitors, exhibitors, visitors, etc.) ), compared to EMO 2007, the overall effect of the exhibition is undoubtedly quite satisfactory, and has been fully affirmed by all parties involved in the exhibition. After all, the current global economic recession has a huge impact on the metal processing industry, especially from the recent statistics in Europe and the United States, the decline in production and sales has not stopped.
Taking the machine tool manufacturing power Germany as an example, the statistics of the German Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (VDW) show that in the first half of this year, the country's machine tool industry has shrunk in terms of output value, order volume, import and export trade. Among them, the output value of metal processing machine tools (including machine tool accessories) was 4.77 billion euros, a decrease of 23% compared with the same period last year.
In the first half of the year, the total number of orders for machine tools in Germany fell 67% year-on-year to 2.791 billion euros. In just one year, it has shrunk to 1/3 of 2008. It can be said that this is mainly due to the decline in global demand. Basically, it has nothing to do with competitive factors such as technical level or price. The rapid decline in capacity utilization of machine tools in the country is a sign – in the first half of 2009, the capacity utilization rate of German machine tools fell to 74.3%, and in the first half of 2008, this indicator has climbed to a high of 95.3%. This shows that the industry equipment is largely idle, the company's operating rate is insufficient, and the severity of the situation is evident.
The highlights worth mentioning are from China. From the perspective of machine tool exporting countries and regions, in the first half of this year, the most important exporter of German machine tools was China, with exports (including machine tool accessories) reaching 615 million euros, accounting for Germany's total exports. The amount was 20.4%, an increase of 24% year-on-year.
The Gitemai Group has signed more than 50 million Euros at the show. Fortunately, there is good news from the exhibitors. As the largest exhibitor at this exhibition, the German Gitemai Group is about 1,500 square meters. The exhibits featured 41 exhibits, including seven world-first debut machines, ranging from turning technology to milling technology to innovative exhibits for new automation and software solutions. This attracted a large number of visitors to stop – the number of visitors to the company's booth was 61% more than the last Milan show (held in 2003).
The Adsale Machinery and Metals Network learned from the Gitemai Group that this EMO was the most successful exhibition of the company in 2009 and achieved the best trade results of the exhibition: a total of 52.6 million euros of orders were sold. 254 machine tools were added, and 1,251 new quotations were added to achieve a surplus. Gitemai said that the orders received at the European Machine Tool Show further enhanced the Group's development expectations for the fourth quarter of this year, and these new offers also provided a strong impetus for the Group's development in FY2010.
