Most manufacturers reported a significant drop in orders following the price increase. Some producers who chose not to raise prices pointed out that without a noticeable improvement in demand, the price increase may not yield positive results and could even harm transaction stability.
Downstream buyers are resistant to the price hikes and continue to purchase based on immediate needs. Large companies still manage to secure titanium dioxide at more favorable prices. According to industry reports, most manufacturers’ current price increase strategies are not performing well. Although some price increases have been implemented, not all customers are willing to accept the new pricing. As a result, many manufacturers have seen a sharp decline in order volumes, leading some to consider whether a moderate price reduction might be necessary to regain customer interest.
Yao, a manager from the Dongguan Shuangli Chemical Market Department, stated that the current weak demand is affecting the market, and the overall situation remains unsatisfactory. He added that a broad-based price increase is difficult to achieve in the short term. However, he believes that the titanium dioxide market in China will remain relatively stable for now.
