Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) has announced a strategic partnership with the Muar Furniture Merchants Association (MFA), Malaysia's leading furniture industry organization. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for MIFF, which has been a key platform for the furniture trade since its inception in 1995.
Starting from 2013, MFA members will exclusively participate in MIFF, making it the largest stage for the association since its establishment. Hosted by UBM Asia, MIFF is the premier furniture trade show in Southeast Asia and continues to attract buyers and exhibitors from around the world.
This is the first time that MFA has publicly committed to such an agreement. Muar is home to over 500 furniture manufacturing companies, and eight of them are listed on the Malaysian stock exchange, contributing to 45% of the country’s total furniture exports. The participation of these manufacturers will further enhance MIFF's reputation as a top global platform for solid wood furniture trading.
MIFF 2013 is scheduled to take place at the Prince Edward World Trade Centre (PWTC) and the Foreign Trade Promotion Bureau Convention and Exhibition Centre (MECC) from March 5 to 9. With the collaboration with MFA, the exhibition area will expand by nearly 25%, including the newly created "Mu Pavilion" specifically for MFA exhibitors. Buyers can look forward to meeting over 100 exhibitors at MECC next year.
In 2012, MIFF attracted 433 exhibitors and welcomed 20,000 visitors, including 6,605 international buyers from 140 countries. On-site sales increased by 7%, reaching a record of $830 million.
