The lighting environment should be tailored to the restaurant's atmosphere, background, and overall setting. For example, a lively buffet restaurant benefits from bright lighting around the entrance and exit areas. This not only ensures safe and convenient access for guests but also makes them more visible, drawing in more people. On the other hand, an elegant French restaurant should feature softer lighting to evoke a romantic and refined ambiance even before guests step inside.
Jiang Yingui emphasized that effective lighting design plays a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere of a restaurant. To achieve this, understanding the psychological needs of customers is essential.
First, a light control system can adjust brightness to create the best psychological impact. This system should be programmed to change based on different times of the day, helping to set the right mood for various occasions. If the budget allows, integrating an automated system can enhance the experience. Second, the concept of a "light transition zone" is vital.
