Bearing components are essential parts that make up a rolling bearing. They play a crucial role in the performance, durability, and functionality of bearings. Understanding these parts can help you better select and maintain bearings for various applications. 1. **Bearing Part** A component that is part of a rolling bearing but not all parts are considered accessories. 2. **Bearing Ring** A ring-shaped component of a radial (centripetal) rolling bearing that contains one or more raceways. 3. **Bearing Washer** A ring-shaped part of a thrust rolling bearing with one or more raceways, used to support axial loads. 4. **Flat Ring with Loose Rib** A detachable, flat washer used internally or externally as a rib for the outer or inner ring of a radial cylindrical roller bearing. 5. **Separable Collar (L-section)** A separable ring with an "L" shaped cross-section, often used as a rib for the inner ring of a radial cylindrical roller bearing. 6. **Middle Ring / Guide Ring** A separable ring found in multi-row roller bearings, used to separate and guide the rollers. 7. **Stop Ring / Locating Snap Ring** A single-piece ring with a stable cross-section, installed in an annular groove to axially position the bearing in a housing or on a shaft. 8. **Locking Ring / Retaining Snap Ring** A single-opening ring with a stable cross-section, used as a retaining ring to hold the roller or cage in place within the bearing. 9. **Spacer** A ring-shaped component placed between two bearing rings or washers, or between two halves of a ring or washer, to maintain proper axial spacing. 10. **Seal** An annular cover made of one or more parts, fixed to a bearing ring or washer, and designed to prevent lubricant leakage and the entry of foreign particles. 11. **Dust Cover / Shield** A thin metal ring cover that is attached to a bearing ring or washer, extending toward the opposite ring without making contact, protecting the internal components from dust and debris. 12. **Retainer / Flinger** A part attached to the inner ring or shaft ring, using centrifugal force to enhance the bearing's resistance to contamination. 13. **Rolling Element** A ball or roller that rolls between the raceways, enabling smooth rotation and load distribution. 14. **Cage / Retainer** A component that holds and guides the rolling elements, ensuring they remain properly spaced and aligned during operation.
