It is reported that in accordance with the requirements of the “Green Grid”, Guizhou Power Grid Company is currently conducting the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” for 110 kV and below power grids in all regions, and preparing the upgrade plan for rural power grids from 2010 to 2012 in the province. During the period, research on new energy access systems such as Guizhou wind power and small hydropower has also started.

Guizhou is also the first province in the country to carry out energy-saving power generation dispatching pilots. From January to June this year, through energy-saving power generation dispatch, Guizhou Power Grid has saved 257,800 tons of standard coal, correspondingly reducing the production of 806,000 tons of carbon dioxide and 16,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

According to the overall deployment of the China Southern Power Grid Company and the planning of the Guizhou Power Grid Company, the total investment in the construction and transformation of Guizhou Power Grid will reach approximately 33 billion yuan from 2009 to 2011.

In 2009, a total investment of 13.5 billion yuan was invested in the reconstruction of Guizhou power grids, an increase of 164.11% over the same period of last year.
