As of the end of August, the capacity of power generation equipment for power plants with 6000 kilowatts and above was 879.80 million kilowatts, an increase of 11.0% year-on-year. Among them, hydropower was 176.38 million kilowatts, a year-on-year growth of 14.3%; thermal power was 67.09 million kilowatts, an increase of 8.9% year-on-year; nuclear power was 9.08 million kilowatts, which was flat year-on-year; wind power was 22.94 million kilowatts, an increase of 83.0%.

From January to August, the power supply of the national grid was 2,495.9 billion kwh, and the amount of electricity sold was 2,234.9 billion kwh, which was an increase of 21.19% and 20.11% respectively over the same period of last year; the national main grid was adjusted to receive 218,803 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and the maximum electricity and electricity received was 58823. During the same period, 95.9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity was transmitted across the country; the provinces sent a total of 384.8 billion kwh of electricity, of which 61.5 billion kwh was delivered in August. The total import and export volume of electricity was 16.9 billion kwh, of which 3.2 billion kwh was imported, and 13.7 billion kwh was exported.

From January to August, the national coal consumption rate for power supply was 334 g/kWh, a year-on-year drop of 6 g/kWh; the line loss rate was 6.45%, an increase of 0.06 percentage points year-on-year.

In the current period, the country’s power infrastructure construction has completed an investment of 196.6 billion yuan, including 40.2 billion yuan in hydropower, 73.6 billion yuan in thermal power, 39.5 billion yuan in nuclear power, 46 billion yuan in wind power, and 163.9 billion yuan in investment in basic power grid construction, and 220 kV in power grid construction.
