3 diagnosis and treatment measures : According to symptoms, changes in feed and anatomical pathological changes, the elimination of infectious diseases, diagnosed as methionine poisoning. Immediately stop feeding the original compound feed, supply clean drinking water with 5% glucose and 0.01% Vc; buy green and succulent vegetables such as cabbage leaves and kale, chopped and fed; feed once a day with 2% feed complex enzyme 2% licorice powder, 3% mung bean powder, self-matched methionine-free feed. After ten days, all the sick chickens gradually became normal, and the symptoms gradually disappeared. After 30 days, the eggs returned to normal and the feed was changed. 4 Lessons learned : Methionine is an important amino acid in laying hens. Under normal circumstances, methionine is absorbed by the chicken body, and under the action of various amino acid enzymes, it is mainly decomposed, anabolized in the liver and kidney, and converted into protein, nitrogen-containing active substance and energy for the growth and development of the body. However, if the methionine in the feed is excessive, the amount of methionine absorbed into the liver exceeds the decomposition and synthesis ability of the liver. Normal decomposition and anabolism are destroyed, resulting in various toxic substances that cannot be decomposed and eliminated, accumulating in the liver and kidney, causing liver and kidney. The cells are denatured and enlarged, which causes the metabolic balance of the laying hens to be disordered and poisoning occurs. In general, the laying hen has enough methionine in the compound feed, no need to add it, and it is eager to encourage excessive addition, but it will be counterproductive. Therefore, to raise laying hens, do not blindly increase the methionine content in the feed.
