According to reports, from January to October 2010, the domestic hardware industry showed a trend of recovery and growth. The sales volume of the whole industry increased by 27% compared with the same period of 2009. According to statistics from the customs, in the first half of 2010, the total import and export volume of the hardware industry reached US$34.38 billion, an increase of 31.3% over the previous year. Among them, exports totaled 26.396 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 33.2% year-on-year; imports totaled 7.984 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 25.1% year-on-year. Domestic hardware products were exported to 223 countries and regions, with the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong being among the top five. At present, the high-end domestic hardware products represented by architectural hardware are mainly occupied by overseas brands.

Shi Lanlan said that based on the current development status of the domestic hardware industry, in the next five years, the Association will actively join forces with local governments and companies to promote the industry's five major transformations:

The first is to realize the transition from extensive to intensive. In the past 15 years of development, China's manufacturing industry, including the hardware industry, has basically taken an extensive development path. At that time, blind pursuit of the one-sided development of digital growth, resulting in high pollution, low-level, repeated labor, low-grade products The drawbacks of surplus and high-end products have been accompanied by the growth of companies and industries. At present, many domestic companies engaged in the production of OEM hardware products do not have poor product quality. However, due to lack of brands and sales channels, they are passive in the market, and frequently encounter trade frictions and anti-dumping in the international market. Therefore, starting from the aspect of improving product processing capability, manufacturing equipment and processes, and then improving product quality, creating brands and marketing channels, and implementing intensive production, has become a top priority for sound development of the industry.

The second is from labor-intensive industries to technology-intensive industries. As international high-end hardware products continue to enter the Chinese market, it will be difficult to increase the technological content in the future market. In order to guide companies to increase research and development of high-end products, in September 2010 in China International Hardware Exhibition held in Shanghai, China Hardware Products Association took the lead in launching the Faucet Industrial Design Contest in order to guide enterprises to strengthen industrial design. The third is to achieve from the expansion of the quantity to quality. At present, the homogenization of products in the hardware industry and the status of low-level repetitive labor have not yet been improved. With the ever-increasing consumer demand for high-end hardware products, domestic brands are facing the dilemma of being unable to meet this demand. If companies want to occupy the high-end market, they must start with quality improvement. Right now, existing companies have seen business opportunities in the high-end market. For example, Supor, a big brand in the cooking industry, recently invested RMB 3 billion in Shenyang to build a sanitary and sanitary industrial park, targeting the domestic high-end sanitary ware market.

The fourth is to increase the low-cost, low-price, high-value-added, high-profit margin. At present, hardware products represented by range hoods have brought a good start to the development of the industry in this area. Range hoods are an important product in the hardware industry. Under the leadership of leading companies represented by Fangtai, Boss and Shuaikang, they started to participate in market competition through technological innovation. Fifth, the export of products is mainly based on OEMs and mainly independent brands. OEM is a kind of industry model that completely adheres to each other.
