Korean government actively promotes commercialization of hydrogen reduction ironmaking technology

South Korea's Ministry of Knowledge Economy announced on June 9 that the South Korean government will formulate special guidelines and policies and actively promote the commercial application of non-carbon dioxide-reduced hydrogen reduction ironmaking technology in steel smelting. The department stated that South Korea will build an industry-university-research system integrating R&D and industrial utilization of integrated hydrogen reduction ironmaking technology by 2020. The government will provide 1,150 billion won for research and development.
