It is understood that this charging device is installed under the road surface, called "dynamic wireless transmission" technology, the electric car can be charged on the road at any time, and no need to stop in the station, which really solves a big trouble for the owner.
According to statistics, since 2001, more than 35,000 electric vehicles have been registered in the UK. Therefore, it is imperative to solve the charging problem. The pilot project will be completed within this year. If successful, the UK government will implement the national highway and main roads, and it is planned to install charging equipment every 20 miles (about 32 kilometers) in the high-speed network.
According to Mike Wilson, chief engineer of the UK Highway Administration, automotive technology is growing rapidly and we are working to promote the use of ultra-low emission vehicles in the UK. The implementation of the wireless charging pilot will create a sustainable road network for the UK and provide new opportunities for commercial transportation.
Transport Minister Andrew Jones also said that the government has invested 500 million pounds (about 4.97 billion yuan) to keep the UK at the leading edge of technology for the next five years, which will help increase jobs and promote Industry development.
